Use Cases
Example questions and workflows for the ThriveStack MCP Server. Browse by area if you need ideas on what to ask.
Start by just asking a question — your AI assistant resolves your product and environment automatically from how you connected, so there’s no project to pick first:
“What are our MRR, ARR and net revenue retention right now?”
Include a time range in your questions. “Last 30 days”, “this year” or “October 2026” gets you better results.
For a structured multi-step analysis instead of one-off questions, use one of the copy-ready prompts in Prompts.
Example workflows: Revenue
From “how are we doing” to “which customers explain it”. Each one names the tools your assistant chains, so you can see where an answer came from.
1. Revenue snapshot
“What are our MRR, ARR, ARPA and net revenue retention right now, and how do they compare with last month?”
get_revenue_kpis returns the headline KPIs with each one’s month-over-month change and a monthly trend. Money is in your base currency.
2. Why did MRR change?
“What was our MRR movement over the last 3 months, and which customers churned last month?”
get_mrr_movements splits the change into new, expansion, contraction, churn and reactivation. Then list_mrr_movement_customers with mrr_type CHURN_MRR names the customers behind the churn, with the plan and the amount.
3. Find revenue leakage
“How much revenue did we miss to failed or missing payments over the last 6 months, and who is overdue for October 2026?”
get_missed_revenue shows expected versus missed revenue per month. list_missed_payment_customers lists the customers for one month, with status (past due, retrying or failed), days overdue and the MRR at risk.
4. Review contracts and bookings
“What is our average contract value, and which expansion contracts are the largest?”
get_acv_summary gives average ACV, TCV and bookings by plan. list_acv_contracts with booking_type EXPANSION and sort_by ACV lists the biggest deals.
5. Check progress against goals
“Are we on track for our ARR goal this year?”
get_revenue_goals lists the goals your team set. get_revenue_goal_progress compares the expected and actual value per month, with the variance.
6. Look into one customer’s billing
“Show me what Acme Corp pays us, whether they have missed any payments this year, and their latest invoices.”
The assistant finds Acme Corp’s billing customer ids with list_revenue_account_mappings. Then get_account_revenue gives the revenue profile, get_account_payment_calendar shows paid, missing and failed months, and list_account_invoices lists the invoices.
Example workflows: Marketing
Where visitors, signups and revenue come from. Each one names the tools your assistant chains, so you can see where an answer came from.
7. Which channels earn their keep?
“Which channels and campaigns brought the most signups in the last 30 days, and which of them turned into revenue?”
get_channel_performance and get_campaign_performance show visitors, sessions and signups per channel and campaign. get_multi_touch_attribution compares revenue under first-touch, last-touch and linear models, and get_campaign_revenue_ranking ranks campaigns by the revenue they brought.
8. Traffic and content
“How has our website traffic trended over the last 90 days, which UTM sources drive it, and which pages get the most views?”
get_website_traffic gives visitors and page views, get_traffic_by_utm breaks daily visits down by utm_source, and get_top_pages lists the most viewed pages.
9. Are the ads paying off?
“How are our Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads doing, and how many visitors from ads became users?”
get_ads_performance shows impressions, clicks, spend, click-through rate and cost per click per ad platform. get_ads_traffic shows what the clicks turned into, per campaign, and list_ads_traffic_entities lists the visitors, users or accounts behind a number.
10. How good are our leads?
“What share of our recent signups are corporate, personal-email or fake, and show me the corporate leads from last week.”
get_lead_quality gives the quality mix of scored signups. list_leads_by_quality lists the leads of one quality type created in a date range.
Example workflows: Product analytics
How people use your product, and whether they stay. Each one names the tools your assistant chains, so you can see where an answer came from.
11. Active users and accounts
“How many monthly active users and accounts did we have in October 2026?”
get_mau_mtu_count takes a month as YYYY-MM and returns active and tracked users. getMonthlyActiveAccounts returns the active accounts metric.
12. Is activation improving?
“How is activation trending, and which milestones best separate accounts that activate from those that drop off?”
get_activation_summary and get_activation_trend show milestone completion and the trend. get_feature_conversion_drivers is interactive: its first step lists activation modules and milestones, and its second step shows the converted and dropped accounts for one milestone.
13. Who is coming back?
“Show me the retention cohorts, and how many accounts are highly, moderately and barely engaged.”
get_retention_data returns retention cohort data. get_churn_expansion_signals gives the portfolio split into high, medium and low stickiness, with an inactive-account trend.
14. The whole funnel in one table
“Give me a month-by-month scorecard of the funnel.”
get_monthly_metrics_table returns a month-by-month scorecard of the last 12 months of the product-led growth funnel: new and repeat visitors, signups, time and touchpoints to signup, new paying accounts and new MRR. Each cell is colour-coded so strong and weak months stand out.
Example workflows: Accounts
Who your customers are and which ones need attention. Each one names the tools your assistant chains, so you can see where an answer came from.
15. Which accounts are at risk?
“Which accounts are at risk, and what changed in their usage?”
list_at_risk_accounts lists accounts at risk on engagement or monetization. For the ones that matter, get_account_engagement_trend and get_account_feature_usage show what changed.
16. Brief me on one account
“Tell me about Acme Corp: how they found us, who is active, and what they did this week.”
The assistant finds the account with list_crm_accounts, then get_account_overview gives the header, get_account_acquisition the first user and campaign, get_account_users the people, and get_account_activity the recent activity.
17. Segment your accounts
“Create a segment of paid accounts with MRR over 1,000, then compare it with our trial accounts.”
create_account_segment creates a saved segment from a plain-language description. It is the only tool that writes, and your AI client may ask you to confirm before it runs. compare_segments then compares segments by account count.
Real-world workflows
Prepare a monthly business update
“Draft last month’s update for the leadership team: revenue KPIs, what moved MRR, where signups came from, and which accounts are at risk.”
The assistant chains get_revenue_kpis and get_mrr_movements for revenue, get_channel_performance for acquisition and list_at_risk_accounts for risk. Ask it to name any figure it could not find rather than estimate one.
Run a weekly collections review
“Which customers are overdue this month, ordered by MRR at risk, with how many days overdue each one is?”
list_missed_payment_customers returns status, days overdue and MRR at risk per customer, so the list is ready to hand to whoever follows up.
Investigate a churn spike
“Churn looked high in September. Which customers churned, on which plans, and had their usage dropped before they left?”
Start with list_mrr_movement_customers for CHURN_MRR in September, then get_account_engagement_trend and get_account_payment_calendar for the larger accounts to see whether usage or payments dropped first.
Check your setup before you report
“Is our tracking and billing data connected and up to date?”
get_setup_status and get_marketing_setup_status show what is connected. get_revenue_sync_status shows recent billing syncs, and list_revenue_customer_mappings with filter UNMAPPED lists billing customers not linked to an account.
Tips
To make the experience smoother or more complete, take a look at the following tips:
- Include dates: Always specify a time range or month (e.g. “last 30 days”, “October 2026”). Revenue tools default to the last 6 complete months.
- Name the account: For customer questions, give the account’s name. The assistant looks up the account and billing ids itself.
- Ask for the currency: Amounts are in your base currency. Say so in your question if you share the result.
- Start broad, then drill down: Ask for the overview first, then follow up on whatever stands out.
